Caracal

A caracal sitting in the forest, possibly plotting its next meal, painted digitally with a limited colour palette of browns, dark blue, green and orange.
Media: Digital.

The Caracal is a medium sized wildcat, about the size of house cat. To me they looked like a mix of a lynx and cougar, but that is obviously not the case as they are much smaller. This little kitty can be found in the Middle East, Central Asia and India. I honestly had no idea that this kind of cat existed, at least not by name, seems this challenge is making me aware of some rather awesome animals!

This image was of a series of paintings where my followers on Instagram and supporters on Patreon suggested animals for me to draw.
