Playing around with coloured paper ensures that the highlights you add are very visible, rather than the paper left blank. I had a lot of fun trying out how this works with feathers and bark. A quite enjoyable drawing, which was made possible due to the photo it was based on, which was taken by the very talented Tony Dvorak.
