Located in southern Florida, Biscayne National Park is a special national park as 95% of the park is under water. It includes an offshore portion of Florida Keys and its coral reef, but also an extensive mangrove forest and several islands, including Elliott Key. With this kind of topic, of course I had to paint an underwater scene.
I painted this image during my limited colour palette challenge, Huely, which took place in July 2021, where I use create paintings using limited colour palettes throughout the month. This specific colour palette was dedicated to landscapes, as it’s a way for people, including myself, to discover new places and destinations, and even learn a few things.
This image is part of a series of three painted using the same colour palette, the other two destinations are: White Sands National Park and Horsetail Fall in Yosemite.
