Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is located in Colorado, USA. In the park we find the the tallest sand dunes in North America, which can reach a maximum height of 229m. The park is located on the edge of the San Luis Valley and the mountains. In the background of this illustration we can see the Sangre de Cristo Range in the background, which are part of the Rocky Mountains.

This image came about during Huely 2022, which is a limited colour palette challenge I hold during July. At the time of writing I have been doing the challenge for five years running, and it is still teaching me a lot of things. Each colour palette is different, but I thought this pink, purple and yellow colour palette created a warm and cozy atmosphere which was perfect for landscapes with the sun rising or setting. This colour palette was themed around US National Parks, and also include the poster for Saguaro National Park.

This illustration is available as prints, which can be found in my InPrnt shop. Other US National parks and landscapes are also available there.
