Saguaro National Park is located in Arizona, USA, and is known for the Saguaro cactus, which also gave the park its name. The cactus is native to the Sonoran Desert, part of the Saguaro National Park, and does not grow naturally anywhere else.
The illustration came about during Huely 2022, which is a limited colour palette challenge I hold during July, a challenge I’ve been doing for five years at the time of writing. The basis of the challenge is to create an illustration using a maximum of five colours. The atmosphere created by this pink, purple and yellow colour palette was perfect for landscapes with the sun rising or setting. The theme for this colour palette was US National Parks, which used in the poster for Great Sand Dunes National Park.
